Web Developer / Programmer

Meta 13 Inc. is seeking an experienced Web Developer to join a growing team, with the goal of supporting, designing, maintaining, and optimizing current and future websites. The candidate should be a dedicated problem solver who can multi-task and prioritizes tasks, in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Required Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressured multi responsibility roll with strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to design workable user friendly web processes.
• Knowledge in or willingness to learn the following technologies ranked by importance: HTML, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Flash, Action Script, Java Script, CSS, Apache, Linux/Unix, Coldfusion, SQL, Postgres, ASP, .Net, Graphic Editing Tools like Gimp or Photoshop, XML, AJAX, SOAP
• Experience architecting and supporting infrastructure for, high traffic, retail, news or portal, web deployments with large client-server transactions.
• Solid Linux & Unix background.
• Apache configuration/maintenance
• Understanding of DNS and basic routing concepts.
• Shell scripting skills (Perl, Bash, etc.)

Experience Requirement

• 1-3 Years experience creating and programming web applications.

Desirable Background and Skills

• Proven experience working with web applications and/or web designs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Receiving general instructions from a supervisor & project managers.
• Design and implementation of present and future IT infrastructure.
• Helping plan and initiate future growth sites/network.
• Novice system administrator or operator tasks
• Evaluating and/or recommending purchases.
• Share in off-hour/on-call duties

Contract Basis Web Development Programmers

We are looking for programmers with solid website development skills to join our outsource network for temporary or project-based contracts. A working knowledge of a variety of programming languages and the commitment and attitude to help clients make great websites are required. Applicants must be motivated and self-learning, able to work in a team environment, to take the lead as well as act as a supporting team member.

Applicants should have experience in some or all of the following languages and technologies:

PHP, Perl, Java, .NET, Flash ActionScript, HTML, CSS, Linux- and Windows-based systems

Currently we are especially looking for programmers with familiarity in Java.
